Skill of the day. #stayhome family bonding idea # 1
In light of the fact that sheltering in could last another month or more, I thought I would share some ideas for how our crew is using our time. One of our boys in residence introduced us to the idea “skill of the day”. Every few days one of us brings a new skill to share with the others. This activity takes anywhere from 15-30 minutes and can be as elaborate or simple as the presenter wishes. We’ve had PowerPoint presentations, slide shows, and even zoom participants for those who can’t join us in person. This part of our days has quickly become a crowd favorite. Our skills have included juggling, the art of romance through origami, air fryer 101, country line dancing, meditation breathing methods, iPhone photography tips, Tik Tok tutorials, step dance, card tricks, shadow puppetry in the time of corona virus, and yesterday how to capture shelter-in memories with a real film camera. For me the memories we are creating during this time are laying the foundation for the future of our family’s health and well being post shelter-in. We are celebrating each other, laughing and learning together. As I look back on how we used this time to grow “skill of the day” will be a highlight in my memory bank. #butterflybtc
